To inspire effective governance and evidence-based policymaking.The Center is committed to enhancing local governments’ ability to transform knowledge into performance through conducting research, initiating dialog and providing advisory services and capacity-building programs and events.

To fulfill its mission, the Center works towards achieving the following objectives:

• Assist government in evidence-based policy formulation byconducting research to build a repository of robust knowledge, networks and tools


• Equip government leaders with the tools required to tackle the challenges of local governance in the 21st century by developingtraining programs and events


• Enhance multi-level governance by facilitating collaboration between the public, private, civic and academic sectors


• Advance best practices in government management by providing advisory services and serving as a rich and continuous source of expertise


• Function as a vibrant hub for local and international scholars, the media, and the general public to explore new ideas and forge collaborations
