Public Policy

Public policy refers to governments’ choice of action or lack thereof in dealing with issues of public interest. This research area aims to produce solid policy research in all areas relevant to local government, such as economic policy, transport policy, social policy, housing policy, and environmental policy. Covering the entire policy cycle, the output of this research area provides Saudi policy makers with scientific information on how policies perform in practice, interact with other policy areas, as well as on the implications of alternative policy options; thus supporting Saudi government in designing evidence-based, intelligent and adaptable policy solutions to the complex challenges faced by the Kingdom’s cities and regions.
